Tragedy Hits as Accidental Detonation at Police Station in Kashmir Region Under Indian Control Claims Nine Deaths
A devastating blast at a law enforcement facility in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir has caused the deaths of nine individuals and wounding to thirty-two additional people, according to police declarations.
The incident took place when a cache of confiscated explosives unintentionally detonated during management operations.

The detonation took place on Friday evening at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where detonation agents confiscated in the Faridabad area in the northern territory of Haryana were being held provisionally.
Regional security director announced that the explosives were pending scientific analysis when a "extremely tragic" mishap during processing caused their explosion at approximately 11:20 PM local.
Police Declarations
Security forces confirmed that this was an "accidental detonation" and not a terrorist attack. "Different conjectures regarding the origin of this event is unwarranted," emphasized the security director during a press briefing.
The police station suffered significant harm from the detonation, with nearby constructions also being influenced by the intense detonation.
Aftermath and Casualties
Multiple vehicles were "covered in blaze and turned into burned shells, with fragments distributed across the site," according to authority statements.
"The force of the blast was so powerful that some human remains were recovered from close-by residences, approximately between 100 and 200 meters from the security post," stated an official source.
The bulk of the casualties were security officials, along with scientific examination staff, two evidence documentation specialists, and a clothing professional who was present with the personnel.

The region's Administrative Head stated commiserations and confirmed that an probe had been ordered into the tragic incident.
