Six Arrested After €12M Heist on Precious Metals Facility in the French Republic
Six armed perpetrators using high-powered firearms employed explosives to force entry into a gold treatment facility located in the city of Lyon, slightly injuring five workers during described as the latest high-profile daytime heist to affect the country.
The daring raid was carried out on Thursday afternoon, with law enforcement authorities quickly arresting the individuals believed responsible and retrieving the loot valued at approximately 12 million euros (£10.5 million), as stated by authorities.
Five staff members of the gold refining company sustained minor injuries from the blast, and three of them required hospital checks for examination, according to regional authorities. A total of twenty-eight staff were at the location when the robbers attacked.
The suspects, believed to be career criminals, were detained a brief time later in the nearby town of the town of Vénissieux, authorities revealed.
A woman involved who took part in the raid was likewise arrested, a police source indicated.
