HBO's It Spinoff Debuts Next Early on HBO's Digital Service
Audiences are thrilled for the horror series Welcome to Derry, already earning acclaim and drawing from elements from additional King stories. Now, the network has revealed that episode two will premiere ahead of schedule, scheduled ideally for Halloween.

Beginning on October 31 at midnight PT, the second episode of the Derry prequel will launch on HBO's online platform, before its traditional TV airing. Subsequent episodes of the eight-episode season will continue to air on Sundays on the network and streaming service, culminating in the final episode on December 14th.

Set in the Derry mythology, It: Welcome to Derry borrows elements from the classic book while expanding on the setting brought to life by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in It and It Chapter Two. It Chapter One focused on kids and teens facing supernatural evils, making it appropriate that the series continues that tradition. Nevertheless, the first installment of HBO’s Welcome to Derry shows it aimed to escalate the fear, providing heightened horror than the cinematic versions and creating a harsh vibe for the upcoming episodes.

Set in 1962, the program presents a new generation of grown-ups and kids residing in a outwardly charming locale hiding a dark secret. The town operates on a cruel, recurring cycle—characterized by hostility, discrimination, and otherworldly forces, as a monstrous presence returns once every three decades. Although It: Welcome to Derry might sound like it leans too heavily to the movies on the surface, what distinguishes the streaming show is its dual perspective—unfolding through the eyes of both children and adults concurrently. The kids remain highly exposed to It's terror, but older characters also face dealing with their individual fears stemming from Derry’s deep-seated bigotry and hidden paranormal elements.
